CITIVISION™ MISSION
To make, motivate and equip disciples to impact their cities with the Gospel.
PURPOSE
With the mission in mind CitiVision has a five-fold purpose:
1. First, to be an evangelistic ministry;
2. Second, to reach the unchurched youth of the cities of the world;
3. Third, to build bridges that connect urban mission minded people with real life ministry opportunities;
4. Fourth, to train and educate people on how to effectively perform urban evangelism;
5. Fifth, to offer facilities and resources to the urban, national and international community and to churches, para-churches and non-profit organizations.
URBAN TRENDS
More than half of the world's population will be living in urban areas by 2008.
By 2030, it is expected that 60% of the world population will live in urban areas.
Almost 180,000 people are added to the urban population each day.
It is estimated that there are almost a billion poor people in the world, of this over 750 million live in urban areas without adequate shelter and basic services.
1/3 of people in developing countries living in cities, live in slum/squatter settlements.
Over 1/2 the people in the world live on less than $2 per day.
